To take a lead role in supporting General Managers and their teams in the delivery of plans to improve service delivery.


To provide leadership in service redesign and improvement, to scope improvement opportunities, undertake required diagnostic work, and to help locate improvement activity within operational and strategic planning arenas.

Bradford District Care Trust is one of only 7 national mental health and social care trusts. The Care Trust has set itself a number of challenging targets and objectives this year to enable significant service improvements. We are looking for someone to join us until the end of March 2010 as our project lead. The post is banded at an 8B and will report to the Director of Service Delivery. The post holder will be based at New Mill in Saltaire, Shipley, West Yorkshire.

Necessary Experience

• Relevant experience of leading service improvement in a Health and/or Social Care context.
• Recent experience of managing complex projects or work streams.
• Experience of engaging with service users and carers in service improvement initiatives.
• Experience of working with senior managers in Health and Social Care.
• Experience of contributing to the development of strategies in which people are valued as individuals.
• Experience of assisting the development of services that are focused upon the experiences of people who use the service.
• Demonstrable understanding of NHS policy and agenda.
• Record of delivering against set objectives and key targets.
• Previous experience of redesign and change management
• Experience of project management
• Ability to translate complex strategic objectives into operational plans, set performance standards and effectively monitor the delivery of service to meet these objectives.
• Experience of continuous professional development.

Required Qualifications/Skills

• Educated to degree level or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Relevant professional/clinical qualification or experience that indicates an ability to understand service improvement issues
